The ACCA international examinations revealed today that there are quite a number of students across the globe that finished their exams successfully in December of 2013. This shows that more and more students are on their road to become full professionals in finance.

More than 357,000 papers were sat by about 195,000 candidates across the globe and with an additional 57,000 students having sat for computer based examinations. About 7,980 students have finished all the needed exams for that professional qualification aspect thus enabling these students to embark on the ACCA membership which is the next step in completing the ethics requirements and practical experience.

Overall, the pass rates in the professional examinations remained unchanged but there were improvements noted in the final level exams. Particularly, there was good performance in the 50 mark case study in the P4-Advanced Financial management which increased the pass rate by 8%. The other option examinations together with the Essential examinations stood close to the traditional pas rates.

Across the (F4 to F9) skills module, the overall pass rates of the ACCA qualification went down this session apart from F4, Business and Corporate Law where there were improved results in the previous session. In spite of the insignificant decline at the skills module pass rates, there were 8,455 students who got eligible at the ACCA’s session Advanced Diploma in Business and Accounting after their professional Ethics completion module which is yet another membership step. Moreover, there were 4,833 students who transferred from the Accountancy Foundations and registered to the ACCA professional qualifications upon completing their Diploma in Accountancy and Business examination or even the Foundation Specialist examinations.

The current research shows that employers are looking for finance professionals that are competent. By completing the practical experience requirements and passing the ACCA examinations, the market is offered professional accountants who are all qualified who are able to demonstrate these competences and skills. Alan Hatfield said that it was very encouraging to see many students complete their final examinations. It was also very encouraging to see that many students have finished their final examinations.
