diluted EPS is very similar to normal EPS, the only difference is the calculation of deviding factor. while calculating the deviding factor, preference shares are also included by supposing that all preference share holders will excercise there rights. so diluted EPS will be lower then EPS normally calculated. every company having issued preference shares have to calculate diluted EPS.
