E&Y Shaping Future Business Leaders

Ernst & Young has launched “EYAcademy”, a structured tactic to develop socially responsible future business leaders.
The program is open for first year students in finance and business related disciplines in local universities who are passionate about learning and development, and are ambitious to become future leaders.
Participants will join the program as EY Cadets. They will gain invaluable EY experience through mentoring, skills training, teaming, networking and internship in our Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas offices.
Agnes Chan, Hong Kong and Macau Regional Managing Partner of Ernst & Young who officiated the launching ceremony, considers EYAcademy as a “holistic approach to students’ professional and personal development.”
“In EYAcademy, we will show EY Cadets the strength of our global organization in practice by offering them opportunities of internship in Hong Kong and mainland China and working with an international team,” Chan said.
“At Ernst & Young, we aspire to have leading people culture. EYAcademy enables us to include the students in this culture at an early stage. This is their opportunity to grow with us and to become future leaders of the world,” she added.
There will be a wide range of interesting activities, carefully structured to enable balanced development of EY Cadets. Corporate social responsibility will be one of the highlights. In the first year, EY Cadets will take up the “CSR Challenge – Together we make a better world” to work on CSR projects.
“We chose corporate social responsibility as the theme of the challenge because we not only want our EY Cadets to be outstanding employees in future but also responsible citizens of the world,” said Loretta Shuen, EYAcademy Program Partner in Charge.
“We believe that together we can build a better world. High performing students will be awarded attractive prizes,” Shuen added.
According to Chan, EYAcademy is targeting to invite around 120 students to join in. All of them will have opportunities to receive leadership and technical training, coaching and mentoring during their 3 year curriculum.
More importantly, 50 percent of good performing EY Cadets will be offered 4-6 weeks of internship with Ernst & Young in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Beijing.
The outstanding EY Cadets will have the chance to attend the Ernst & Young Annual International Intern Leadership Conference at Orlando, US., and to fast-track onto our Hong Kong Graduate Program for Staff Accountant upon graduation.
Students who are interested in the EYAcademy should enroll in the program before November 25, 2011.
