A New MoA Signed Between Universitas Gadjah Madah and ACCA

A new MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) has been signed between Universitas Gadjah Madah and ACCA ( The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) on 11 JUN 2014. The MoA is primarily focused to build a strong relation between the two globally recognized organizations to support finance and accountancy students. According to the officials, the MoA aims to pursue the quality education in finance and accountancy and to make the world class finance professionals to support Indonesia’s economic growth.

Universitas Gadjah Madah is the largest university in Indonesia established in 1949. Currently it offers a dual degree program with several reputed universities around the globe with increasing numbers of Indonesian and international students. Notably, Universitas Gadjah Madah has more than 150,500 alumni across worldwide and it is committed to develop multidisciplinary collaborations.

ACCA and UGM signed the MoA for common interests as well as for further advancement of the accountancy profession in Indonesia. Under this MoA, Universitas Gadjah Madah will promote the foundation education of finance and education that is mutually beneficial for both esteemed educational organizations. The foundation education about finance and accountancy will offer the entry point of other globally accepted ACCA courses. Also the MoA agreed to conduct joint seminars, conferences, research projects, publications and other knowledge sharing programs.

According to Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Wihana Jaya Kirana: being the first business school in Indonesia UGM obtained accreditation from AACSB(Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) United States. Professor Dr. Wihana Jaya Kirana also adds: UGM is looking forward for cooperations from international institutions such as ACCA.

The MoA also focused on better interaction between both organizations. Both institutions are committed to maintain constructive and cooperative working relationship, along with their common interests and the advancement of the accounting profession in Indonesia as they aimed to build professional capacity building in Indonesia’s finance and accounting sector.
